Beerfest Countdown Continues

As the countdown ticks away, we are now just 7 days from SCRF’s Inaugural Beer Festival! Having last week confirmed our beer list, we are now pleased to announce our headline band acts for the event, namely ‘Run Out the Guns’ and ‘Dreamer’.

Lancashire band, Run Out The Guns were formed in 2009, and are a four piece acoustic lineup featuring guitar, fiddle, mandolin, banjo, bouzouki, bass and percussion. The band mix their own original music with songs, shanties, jigs and reels from the past and modern day. Described as a “Folk, punk, blues, rock, country and Irish mash-up” Run Out The Guns are sure to get your feet tapping as you work up a thirst around the beer festival.

To compliment ‘Run Out The Guns’ we are also pleased to announce ‘Dreamer’ to our live music round up to provide soundtrack for the weekend’s festivities. Dreamer are an 8 piece band from Manchester. In the past year they’ve been making a name for themselves as one of the funkiest bands around. The band members consist of three music students, a music teacher, her dad and three other fine musicians. They play tunes ranging from 70s funk like the Temptations, The Isley Brothers and Bill Withers through to more recent material by Jill Scott, Erykah Badu and others on the funkier side of soul. They like to think that if they can't get you dancing you're probably in an urn on someone's mantelpiece!

As well as the music and beer, there will be a range of other activities and events to compliment the day, including competitions, rugby demonstrations and raffles, among other activities.

While the beer may be for the adults, families are welcome during the day with all accompanied under 18 year olds allowed in until 7pm for free to enjoy other activities on offer. Entrance on the day is £5, which includes your event glass, programme and first half pint of the day. Demand will be high so we encourage you to buy your tickets early. This can be done at reception of the Salford City Stadium. Everyone who prepurchases their tickets will be entered into a prize draw for a range of prizes including VIP tickets at the Reds, Rugby League World Cup Final tickets and much more.

Sponsored by Robinsons all proceeds from the fun packed event will go to the Salford City Reds Foundation.
