Reds’ Rugby Club of Manchester success
Last Friday saw the Reds put on a fantastic afternoon of rugby themed entertainment to the Manchester business world at a packed out Hilton Hotel based luncheon. As the business networking event moved into is 3rd year, the group were joined by MC Mike Walling, rugby league legend Andy Gregory and Salford City Reds Chairman Marwan Koukash. The event was sponsored by new partners Route who joined us for the day and to which a special thank you is in order.
The group were headed up on the day by Managing Director Robert Morrall who added “Route is delighted to get involved with Salford City Reds Foundation and the Rugby Club of Manchester business group. We very much believe in supporting sport at the grass root level and providing opportunities to nurture young talent. Out ethos as a company is to support sport and leisure clubs nationally so the opportunity to partner with the Reds couldn’t be missed. We do this through providing specialist procurement advice to optimise their spending and increase their profit margins helping them to continue to provide sporting venues that have a long term future. ”
The afternoon took the usual format with a range of attendants from the public and private sector. Star of TV and stage Mike Walling was MC for the afternoon and he expertly guided the group through anecdotes from Andy Gregory and Marwan Koukash. Lance Todd recipient Andy had many stories around his record breaking Challenge Cup experiences and Marwan spoke of his introduction to rugby league, love for horse racing and desire to lead Salford City Reds to the top of the rugby league world.
The business networking group was established in 2011 with a view to raising the profile of Salford City Reds within the Manchester business community and raise money for Salford City Reds Foundation. Success came quick with sold out events leading us to move to a bigger base and if truth be known many more tickets could have been sold for the last event on Friday.
Salford City Reds Foundation’s Mark Brocklehurst said “it was great to see another packed restaurant at the Hilton and we must pay a special thanks to Mike, Andy and Marwan for providing some fantastic insights into their professional backgrounds. The event is all about bringing rugby fans from the business world together for an afternoon of networking to promote Salford City Reds and it was great to welcome another partner on board in the form of Robert Morrall and his colleagues at Route”
