Manchester 9s announce partnership with Salford City Reds

The Manchester 9s Rugby League Festival are delighted to announce we have partnered with local Super League side Salford City Reds. The Reds will make available their resources including first team player’s such as England Knight’s Jodie Broughton and the SCR Foundation’s delivery team to help make sure the event is a big success.

The partnership will see Salford City Reds assist the M9s Team in raising awareness for the inaugural festival in May, which takes places at Broughton Park FC over the 17-19 May. Salford City Reds will also be supporting the M9s with a large on the ground presence at the festival over the weekend.

Festival Manager Jonny Cuddy says: “It's fantastic that our local Super League Club has got behind and supported the inaugural Manchester 9s. We look forward to working with the club to create an exciting rugby league festival in the heart of Manchester”.

Salford City Reds Foundation’s Mark Brocklehurst commented on the partnership: “The Manchester 9s is a great idea for promoting Rugby League in the Manchester area. Manchester has come on a long way as a rugby league city in terms of schools, Universities and community clubs in recent years. Having the Magic Weekend for another 2 years is great for Manchester and adding such an event as the 9’s to the local sporting calendar can only make rugby league even more popular. As the regional Super League club for the area it's a festival Salford City Reds are really excited to be involved with.”
