Salford Clubs in Grand Finals

Local clubs in Grand Final action

Two of our local amateur clubs are gearing up for open age grand finals this weekend.

Langworthy Reds and Folly Lane first teams will play to the claim the title of champions of their respective divisions, with the finals taking place at Widnes Vikings’

Select Security Stadium.

Langworthy come into the final on the back of a 42-24 win over Runcorn in the Semi Finals and will face Wigan based side Orrell St James seconds in the final.

Folly Lane will face off against Orrell’s first team, after beating Latchford 48-0 away from home to earn their place at the finals day.

These finals cap off another hugely successful year for Salford’s community clubs as the amateur game continues to grow, and Salford Red Devils Foundation Head of Development Danny Barton is delighted to see such a strong Salford representation at finals day, he said;

“It’s brilliant to have two Salford clubs involved in Finals Day at an open age level. These two teams have worked extremely hard all season, and deserve the chance to play for silverware”.

Everyone at the Red Devils would like to wish both clubs the best of luck in their Cup Finals.
