SCRF Nominated for Award

Salford City Reds Foundation are pleased to announce our nomination amongst the finalists for the 2013 Salford Business Awards.
The 36-strong shortlist, across eight Awards, covers a wide range of categories including international trade, innovation and entrepreneurship.
We are nominated for the Community Award, sponsored by Salford City Council. The Community Award celebrates businesses that make a committed and proactive contribution to the enhancement and benefit of the community.
Celebrating SCRF work with communities in tackling unemployment, cancer, smoking, health issues, as well as many other areas including social inclusion, we are delighted that our efforts to inspire communities through health, education and sport have seen us nominated alongside some fantastic organisations.
Mark Brocklehurst, Community & Business Manager at SCRF, said, “We are absolutely delighted to be recognised in the running for this award and it’s a real boost to the foundation and the whole team. We wish all those nominated best luck for the awards, and look forward to continuing our work in the community.
The judges are looking for how the organisation has worked effectively with community groups, the impact of their activity in the local community as well as commitment to continue their work in the community in the future
The Awards, organised by Salford City Council, University of Salford and The Business Group, were established six years ago to give local businesses the recognition they deserve.
BAFTA award winning journalist Elaine Wilcox will announce the winners on Thursday 23rd May from Salford City Stadium. Stephanie McGovern, BBC business breakfast correspondent, will join the Awards as this year’s after dinner speaker.
Tickets are available from the awards website at http://www.salfordbusinessawards.co.uk/book-a-table/
