Albion Sports Academy Rugby Festival

Albion Sports Academy

The Albion Sports Academy has been out in the community with Salford Red Devils Foundation providing sports activities to one of The Albion Academies feeder primary schools. Students from Albion Academy are currently engaging with SRDF and are studying their level 2 Sport BTEC Award delivered by SRDF at The AJ Bell Stadium. Students get a fantastic opportunity to learn and work within a professional sporting environment and have the opportunity to work with high quality coaches in the community.

Thursday 9th July saw students put into action skills that they have learned on the course to plan and deliver sporting activities and The Friars Primary School. A carousel of different fun games was created and with the supervision from SRDF staff Albion Academy   delivered a fantastic afternoon for the primary school children.

This kind of activity helps both sets of students because the Sports Academy students are gaining confidence and improving their coaching and interpersonal skills, while the primary school children get to see opportunities that will be available to them when the move to High School. These activities can also give the primary schools confidence because they are interacting with high school students and they are all friendly and welcoming.

The day was a great success, so all students deserve a big well done
