Celebrating 120 Years of Rugby League

120 Years of Rugby League Celebration

Salford Red Devils Foundation are supporting and celebrating 120 years of Rugby League this September.

We are inviting guests to come to Riverview Primary School on Sunday 6th September, for a day of celebration and community surrounding Rugby League.

To commemorate 120 years, there will be a blue plaque unveiled at the school.

Salford Red Devils were not originally involved in Rugby League, later arriving in 1896, although Broughton Rangers were. Riverview Primary School is on the site of Broughton Rangers’ ground.

Despite not being involved until 1896, we cannot wait to support the date on Sunday 6th and continue our involvement within the local community.

The schedule for the day is as follows:

11am-12pm – Arrive for community activities. Masters game to be played by Broughton Rangers against Wigan.

12:15pm – Unveiling of blue plaque

12:30pm – Photos and media opportunities

1pm – Close
