Hunte Joins Kili Climb for Steve

This October Head of Youth Development at the Red Devils, Alan Hunte will be taking on a different challenge by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania in aid of the Steve Prescott Foundation and he’s asking fans from across the rugby league world to help him out.
Along with Salford Red Devils very own Adrian Morley, Warrington Wolves legend Lee Briers, and Barrie McDermott, Sky Sports’ Angela Powers, as well as current Super League players Kevin Sinfield and Gareth Carvell and BBC Radio 5Live presenter George Riley, Alan will take on the challenge to complete the climb in just 5 days, which is 4 days faster than the usual 9 days recommended for the climb.
It will challenge each individual’s fitness and mental stamina at high altitude. The success rate of this challenge is well documented at 27%. Each climber aims to raise at least £4000 for the 3 charities of the SPF, the Christie Hospital, Try Assist and the Oxford Transplant Foundation.

Alan said - ‘I’ve done a few things for Steve and the Foundation but this is by far the toughest and most daunting, but as Steve said it’s not a challenge if it’s not challenging so here goes. I’m just thankful I’ve got some great people to climb with and looking forward to getting to know the others I don’t know as we share an amazing experience.
