Salford Red Devils announced as Walkabout Manchester's offical partner
Red Devils Foundation announced as Walkabout Manchester’s Charity of the Year;
The Salford Red Devils Foundation are delighted to have been announced as the Official Charity Partner of popular Manchester bar and restaurant Walkabout.
The Australian themed bar set in their brand new location in the Printworks complex has established itself as one of the premium locations to watch rugby league in the city.
Walkabout already sponsor the club’s Head Coach Ian Watson, as well as Director of Rugby Tim Sheens, and this new partnership will not only strengthen the growing relationship between the bar and the club, but raise thousands of pounds for community programmes.
To celebrate the launch of the charity partnership, staff from the Red Devils, featuring Club Ambassador Adrian Morley, took on a Walkabout side in their infamous Man vs Food Challenge. The Red Devils came out on top after eating a mammoth amount of food in the 30 min time slot.
Walkabout General Manager Martin Angus oversaw the recent Man vs Food challenge, which launched the partnership and is looking forwards to seeing it develop;
“As everyone knows we are a great place to relax, enjoy good food and watch sport, but what most don’t know is that we are committed to raising money for good causes close to our heart, Working with the Red Devils Foundation over the next 12 months will see us help to make a real impact on the local community through their various fantastic health and education programmes. It’s a great fit for us and we are looking forward to working together to raise a lot of money for the charity.”
