Salford Youth Heroes Awards 2014

Back in May 2014, the Salford Red Devils Foundation was proud to be involved in the Salford Youth Heroes Dinner.

Organised in Salford, by Salford Youth For Christ, the Awards were originally a response to the London riots in 2011. The scheme seeks to recognise the efforts of inspirational youngsters in the area, who have provided a fantastic contribution to the local community.

The evening was attended by Salford MP Hazel Blears, journalists, local people and of course the nominees. Drinks and a three-course dinner kicked the night off followed by the prize giving ceremony.

The Foundation were proud to present the award for Outstanding Sporting Achievement to Hannah Payton.

Event organiser Barry Mason said “We were delighted to see an amazing evening come together, which honoured the achievements and services of so many youth heroes from across Salford.

We are so thankful for the involvement of all our partners and sponsors in making this happen. We were encouraged by the repeat partnership from Red Devils Foundation. The presence of such an iconic Salford name helps to give the overall feel of the awards more credit with the young people and we look forward to future working partnerships.”
