SRD Masters Rugby League Festival

Salford Red Devils Masters Rugby League - First Festival!!

This weekend saw Salford Red Devils Masters Rugby League's first Festival on Saturday 12th December at Salford City Roosters home ground.

The Masters Rugby league steering group kindly supported this festival and refereed ensuring all played to the according age groups. The Foundation also bought each of our local community clubs a full set of shorts and socks to help sustain future participation in games across the region in partnership with the Masters steering group.

Our Masters Rugby League training started in November engaging our local community clubs; Cadishead Rhinos, Langworthy Reds and Salford City Roosters with great numbers attending on a weekly basis.

This Saturday saw 30 men aged 35+ take part in a 13 a side Masters festival of two 20 minutes sides in perfect winter conditions.

Masters Rugby League is the perfect thing for those who still have a love for Rugby League but find full contact too much.

Training has now finished for Masters and is due to start back in the new year, week beginning 18th January;

Cadishead Rhinos

Saturdays @ Cadishead Recreation Centre, Lord Street, Cadishead, M44 5EH

Langworthy Reds

Mondays @ Rabbit Hills, Bolton Road, Pendlebury, Swinton, M27 8TG

As you can see from the masters rules on the poster below players play within their age group, they cannot play down but can play up.

Thank you to Salford Clinical Commissioning Group for their continued support in our Tackle Mens' Health programme.
